Excel Powerpoint

This question is NOT as easy as it seems!!! I need to copy a chart from Excel spreadsheet into a PowerPoint file AND keep the data (embed) based on which that graph was constructed, i.e. If a user right clicks on the chart and selects 'Edit Data', an Excel spreadsheet 'Chart in Microsoft PowerPoint - Microsoft Excel' should pop up containing the dataset. So, I need to be able to embed the data into the PowerPoint, I do NOT want to link the chart to an external Excel file!!! The user needs to be able to access the data on which the graph was built by using ONLY the.ppt. I don't know how much this will help you.

Here is the code I use to grab a chart in Excel and paste it in place of a powerpoint object (used primarily to update monthly reports, so I don't have to worry about resizing to keep everything consistent from month to month). You would have to change the copy line from Excel (e.g. Don't copy as picture) and see if that results in the embedding you are looking for. If not, at least the rest of the PPT code is here and you just have to get the embedding code straightened out.

Note that you have to have an object selected in PPT, and the overall chart object in Excel (not the inner graph window, and not a graph element- only the outside of the graph box should be selected).
