The UniBlue Driver Scanner is supposed to check for.updates. to drivers it finds on your PC at the time of the scan - this is a bad idea for many reasons; three which come to mind are - 1) The drivers it downloads and installs may not be compatible with your current set-up; 2) Computers typic ally require human intervention so they (the computer) is able the make the appropriate choice of which driver to install. 3) Anything like this that is marked a free may potentially cause more harm than good. While I am by no means endorsing UniBlue, purchasing the software does give you a support channel thru which you can air / discuss any grievances or questions you may have. The best place to download drivers is from the manufacturer of your computer (HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc.).

If you have a custom-built computer, download drivers from the motherboard manufacturer and the manufacturer of any add-on cards you have. If for some reason, the manufacturer doesn't have dr ivers, or does not have them for your operating system, check with the manufacturer of the individual components, such as the chipset, onboard LAN, graphics, and sound. Below are links to the driver search pages for major manufacturers. The website of the manufacturer will have them for free. If you have a Dell, HP, or similar there is a model number on it and you can find the correct drivers with it. If your computer was not manufactured by company, but was assembled by a person or a private small business you should: Carefully remove the case and don't touch inside components without being properly grounded (You can discharge static electricity and damage the computer) and look for the manufacturers name on the main-board (motherboard). Additionally, you should write down the model number: example: Intel DP55KG.

Then search for the manufacturer's web site; choose support, find your board and download the drivers. Caution: Inexperienced or untrained users can cause serious injury to themselves if they are not sure what they are doing; especially with power supplies or CRT monitors. These devices have capacitors that can store large amounts of electricity, even when they are unplugged. Never work on these devices yourself.
